The Devil (from Greek: διάβολος or diábolos = slanderer or accuser) is believed in many religions, myths and cultures to be a supernatural entity that is the personification of evil. Acording to the catholic theology is a fallen angel who is the archenemy of God and humankind. The Devil himself is unseen in the Van Helsing Movie, but is mentioned several times and played a pivotal role in Count Dracula's storyline and character.

Appearance

From the scroll uncovered in the Valerious family archives, the Devil appears as a horned, winged gargoyle creature, as is the usual depiction of what a or the Devil is believed to look like.

Role

In 1462, Dracula was apparently murdered by the left hand of God, so his spirit made a covenant with the Devil, to exchange his soul in order to be given a new life, which the Devil agreed to do so but it came with the price of drinking the blood of at least one or two humans a month. Dracula was then turned into an invulnerable undead relic of his former self and template for a vampiric race, thanks to the Devil's powers. When Valerious The Elder banished Dracula to his icy fortress, the Devil also gave him wings in the form a demonic, bat-like demon will-powered transformation to escape and come and go. Dracula gained a fearsome reputation as the apparent Son of the Devil, and had some respect for his power, evident when he and the Devil hold hands in promise on the scroll depicting the pact between them, and in 1888, reminded his brides to beg the Devil that their children may stay alive.
